“Explore the Universe in “The Age of Reasoning”: An Immersive Experience of Colours, Sounds, and Visions!”

Artist Frank Bueltge has created a new work of art, entitled ‘The Age of Reasoning’, which is an interactive media installation. The piece consists of a wall-sized monitor featuring an array of colored circles, which evoke the clouds of a distant galaxy. As viewers explore the circles, their interactions trigger a series of captivating visuals and sounds. The immersive experience challenges viewers to think beyond their immediate environment and consider their place in the larger universe.

This piece reflects the postmodern ideas of philosopher Jean-Francois Lyotard, who believed that knowledge is generated in a constantly developing cycle of dialogue. Bueltge’s piece represents this cycle of knowledge through the juxtaposition of sight and sound. As viewers navigate the piece, the visuals and sounds become increasingly complex, offering a stimulating space to ponder questions of certainty, doubt, and knowledge.

Bueltge is now experimenting with large language models, neural networks, and big data. To learn more about his work, you can discover his previous piece here.

“The Age of Reasoning” failed to deliver a truly immersive experience, relying too heavily on flashy visuals and not enough on thoughtful artistic expression.

“The Age of Reasoning” pushes the boundaries of art, but overindulges in spectacle.
